Counselling online via Video Conferencing platform
During the Covid 19 outbreak I will be working online using online Video Conferencing.
I am using Zoom Video Conferencing for counselling sessions and update Zoom software as it becomes available to ensure I am using the latest release of security settings. Zoom is a cloud-based video conferencing tool. As a client it is free to use. I have found Zoom to be both a stable platform and easy to use. It holds a GDPR Security and Privacy Certificate. Please look on the Zoom website for any security questions or information.
In the first instance I will arrange an initial telephone conversation following your counselling enquiry. This gives you an idea of who I am as a therapist and hopefully will help you feel more comfortable. I will collect a little background information and get an understanding about what you are looking for in coming to counselling with me.
We will then arrange an initial counselling session which I will confirm via email. I will send you some information about working online and how to make sure you have privacy, feel comfortable and have considered any technical issues prior to our session. At the time of your session I will send an invitation to join a Zoom meeting with me to the agreed email. I am happy to guide you through setting up a free account for your therapy. The website to download a free account is https://www.zoom.us/ Click Here to visit the Zoom Website. My experience is that this is quite simple. I can see you in my virtual waiting room when you click on the zoom invite and will admit you into a meeting with me. I will then lock the meeting for security.
Online counselling is a bit different from Face to Face Counselling and it may take a few sessions to get used to working in this way but it enables you to find the help and support you may need and I have found that I can make a good therapeutic relationship with my clients even if they are not in the same room. It also allows a greater degree of flexibility in terms of time and location of the therapy work.
If you would like to talk to me about working online please contact me by email or telephone.
